Our History

Who we are

We believe in the anointing power of God to transform lives and raise up Kingdom disciples who are full of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

We are a New Testament Eldership church where new members are being empowered by God’s Spirit, discipled, equipped to live and demonstrate the supernatural and miraculous power of God.

The Call for International Mission

Our history began during the Singapore Revival of the 1980s when the Holy Spirit moved mightily upon the churches and business marketplace of Singapore. After the very successful Billy Graham National Evangelistic Preaching Campaign held in early December 1978, there was an open heaven and spiritual awakening in the city and nation of Singapore.

The Spirit of God Moved

In August 1985, the Holy Spirit also visited our founder, Elder Wee’s office at Prudential, Singapore. We are never the same again!

Preaching Christ to the Nations

In 1994, the Lord called marketplace leaders to establish a marketplace New Testament church to impact our city and nation. City Missions Church, then, was inspired and led by the Holy Spirit was established as the church in missions: Preaching Christ to the Nations. Under the Lord’s leading, CMC has gone to surrounding and far away nations to do great exploits in evangelism, church planting, leadership equipping, ministry development and nation transformation for the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ!
